Obituary of Giovanna Martini

Giovanna Martini 89 of Raritan died on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Bridgeway Rehabilitation in Bridgewater. Born in Ripi, Italy, she resided in Raritan for 62 years.  She worked for Stanhope, Jelco and Critkon while raising her family in the 70's. A devoted catholic, she was a member of St. Ann's Church in Raritan.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking her famous meatballs, gardening, and enjoyed playing the slot machines whether at home or the casinos.

She is predeceased by her parents Luigi and Maria (Mollica) Zomparelli, her loving husband of 35 years Augusto, two sisters Olivera and Chiara, two brothers Americo and Aldo.  Surviving are her children Agenore (LuAnne) of Green Brook, Carlo (Marshalynn) of Bridgewater, Joanne (Reynel Garcia) of Raritan, Maria(Joseph West) of Naples, FL, two sisters Pasqualina (Michele) Rimaldi Jamaica, New York, Adriana (Vittorio) Latanza Rome, Italy and brother Pietro (Lisa) Zomparelli, Montreal, Canada.  Her loving grandchildren Michael, Alyssa, Charles James (CJ), Augusto, Nicholas and Michael.  Many cherished nieces, nephews, commares and friends.  All who knew her will miss her dearly.

Visitation will take place at Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 2 PM - 4 PM and 7 PM - 9 PM; Saturday February 3, 9 AM - 10:15 AM; Funeral Mass at 11 AM at the Catholic Church of St. Ann, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan; Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, Route 28, Bridgewater.
