Artemis (Arti) Dunn

Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother

Artemis Dunn, age 94, died peacefully in her sleep on 11January2024 with her devoted daughter, Pauline Dunn, at her side.  She was predeceased by her husband and kindred spirit of 63 years, Charles, her sister Thalia Pattakos and her brother John Cording. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Loretta Wood (Gregory), Dr. Jonathan Dunn (Gail) and Pauline Dunn (Jeffrey Nieves), four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Born in Paterson, she graduated from East Side High School. She married the love of her life, Charles Dunn, and they moved to Fords NJ to raise their family.  They moved to Bridgewater NJ in 1986.  Arti had many talents and interests. She was a member of the JFK Medical Center Auxiliary for many years donating more than 10,000 hours.  She was twice the president of the Bridgewater Garden Club and a member for more than 40 years. Arti was young at heart and loved learning, music and was a passionate Jets fan.

There were never strangers in her life and she became friends with everyone she met.  Her intelligence, wit and sense of humor created an atmosphere of comfort to those around her.  She had a gift of art in the form of painting and sketching that seemed to bring out her fun personality.  She was adept at sewing, knitting and crocheting.  Proud of her Greek heritage, she was a fabulous chef specializing in Greek dishes.  Arti loved America and she thought there was nothing more beautiful than the American Flag.

Her presence will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
